About the Park
The park covers an area of around 6 hectares and is home to more than 70 animal species. A total of around 350 animals live here, including many well-known and rare species that are native to Europe. The park's inhabitants include European brown bears, wolves, lynxes, wild cats, deer, foxes and numerous bird species. What is particularly interesting is that the park concentrates on the biodiversity of Europe and therefore places a special focus on the native animal world. A special feature of Bio-Topia are the near-natural enclosures: the park attaches great importance to providing the animals with an environment that is as close as possible to their natural habitats. The enclosures are spacious and allow the animals species-appropriate freedom of movement. It also has a European focus: unlike many other zoos, Bio-Topia concentrates on European animal species, which offers visitors a deeper insight into native nature and its protection. Among the special animal species in the park are the European pond turtle and the white stork, both of which are highly endangered in many parts of Europe.
