Aquarium La Rochelle

The Aquarium La Rochelle has been located in the western French port city of La Rochelle in the Charente-Maritime department, around 150 km from Nantes and approximately 190 km from Bordeaux, since 1988. In over eighty different aquariums with a total volume of around 3 million litres of seawater, visitors can marvel at over 12,000 sea creatures from 600 species. Among other things, you can marvel at various species of jellyfish, squid, clownfish, seahorses, corals and twenty different species of sharks. The lovingly designed aquariums, some of which appear enormous, attract over 800,000 visitors to the La Rochelle Aquarium every year. The aquarium is open all year round and promises all aquarium enthusiasts a worthwhile destination in this port city, which is part of the modern Hanseatic League.
