About the Park
The Zwiesel Borderland Festival is one of the most traditional folk festivals in the region and is one of the highlights in the glass town's calendar of events.
In the past, large folk festivals in rural areas were only known in larger towns such as Straubing or Landshut. The up-and-coming market town of Zwiesel wanted to emulate these towns and organised the region's first folk festival in 1880.
The nine-day festival programme includes, for example, the Youth Day, the Community Day and the Children and Family Day. The crowning glory of the event is the magnificent brilliant fireworks display on the second Sunday.
