About the Park
You will find over 130 animal species in Thuringia's oldest zoo (opened in 1959), the Erfurt Zoo. The area of 63 hectares is shared by vultures in the Geier Valley, deer in the deer forest and lions in the lion savannah. In addition, you will find large animals such as giraffes or rhinos, and for the younger visitors goats and geese in the petting zoo and the show farm.
