About the Park
On an area of 22 hectares, the Hanover Zoo houses about 2150 animals from 181 species. The zoo was already opened on May 4, 1865 and has been renovated many times. In the meantime, seven themed worlds have been created, which show the natural habitat and the cultural area. Visitors can thus look forward to great encounters with the animals and learn a lot about the different species.
