About the Park
Originally founded in 1928 as a wildlife park, the Eberswalde zoological garden was commissioned in 1958 on an area of 15 hectares south of Eberswalde, about 40 kilometers north of Berlin. Due to its area, it is the second largest zoo in Brandenburg. It is home to - distributed in around 150 species - native animals as well as exotic animals, including camels, flamingos and penguins. Particular attention can be paid to the fully glazed tunnel in the lion enclosure as well as the free-range ring-tailed lemurs and common marmosets.
