About the Park
In the Bavarian city of Augsburg, one of the oldest cities in Germany, you will find Augsburg Zoo, which was opened in 1937 as the "Park of the German Animal World" and later renamed. Around 1230 animals from over 240 species live here on an area of 20 hectares. Augsburg Zoo is one of the 20 largest animal parks and zoos in Germany and supports 18 European conservation breeding programmes. Of course, the zoo also offers a range of food and drink.
One of the annual events at Augsburg Zoo is the popular Zoolauf, a charity run through the zoo.
