Wismar - Weihnachtsmarkt

Stylishly framed by the brightly lit town hall, the water art, and the old venerable gabled houses, the traditional “Wismar Christmas Market” takes place on the historic market square during the Advent season. Swedish-style Christmas huts entice visitors to feast, browse, and shop: mulled wine and hot sea buckthorn juice, bratwurst, cotton candy, Mutzen (a type of sweet bread), international products (e.g., at the Swedish stand), Christmas items from Thuringia and the Ore Mountains, and much more. Next to the water feature is the fairy tale forest with a witch's house and many well-known characters from Grimm's fairy tales. Especially for children, there is a children's Christmas market with rides and a craft hut where they can try their hand at pottery, felting, and painting, as well as a hut where they can decorate Christmas baubles. Here, the little ones can make personalized gifts for their parents and friends.

There is also a wish box at the children's Christmas market. Santa Claus takes care of the collected mail, and maybe one or two wishes can be fulfilled...
