About the Park
Opened in 1972 under the name Baby Zoo, this adventure world had a moving past. Closed for some time in the 1990s due to insolvency, the Wingster Waldzoo was reopened under the name Zoo in der Wingst in the early 2000s. Since then, the Waldzoo has been growing in cooperation with the Friends of the Zoo and is divided into several areas, including Tropical Houses, Taiga or Companions of Man. On an area of about 5ha
lions, calicoes or porcupines can be found in the bamboo forest area, terrariums, ocelots and coiled bears can be discovered in the tropical houses and a lemur forest has been open to visitors since 2023.
