WildtierPark Edersee

The Edersee Wildlife Park, founded in 1970 and open all year round, is located in Edertal-Hemfurth, Hesse, with a view of Lake Edersee with its dam wall and Waldeck Castle. Covering an area of 53 hectares, it is now home to around 250 animals from around 21 native or formerly native animal species in spacious and naturally designed enclosures. On the approx. 2.5 km long circular trail, which is also suitable for wheelchair users and baby carriages, you can discover lynx and timber wolves as well as black, red and fallow deer, mouflons, bison and wild horses. In the petting zoo, goats and other animals await animal lovers of all ages. A highlight of the WildtierPark Edersee is certainly the bird of prey observatory with its twice-daily bird of prey show from Tuesday to Sunday. Falcons, kites and buzzards perform magnificent flight maneuvers against the stunning backdrop of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. The WildtierPark Edersee is therefore a great excursion destination for young and old and is worth a visit at any time of year.
