About the Park
In Schwarzach in the Neckar-Odenwald district of Baden-Württemberg, which is part of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, you will find the Schwarzach Wildlife Park, which opened in 1966. More than 400 wild and domestic animals from over 50 species live here on an area of around 10 hectares. You will find geese, parrots, wild boars, sheep, zebras and many other animals. In addition to the animals, you will also find the beekeeping museum of the Mosbach-Aglasterhausen beekeepers' association and the Schwarzach mortar bell. This is the largest bell in southern Germany and, at 2.05 metres high and weighing 6.9 tonnes, it is also the second largest bell in the history of the traditional Grassmayr bell foundry. For children, the Schwarzach Wildlife Park also has an African playground with a climbing forest, Tarzan ride, bird's nest swing, African wooden animals and play huts, a petting zoo, a show farm and a children's railway where you can take a ride along the tracks. The Schwarzach Wildlife Park is open all year round, making it a worthwhile excursion destination in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region at any time of year.
