About the Park
In Nideggen-Schmidt in the district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia, you will find the popular destination for animal lovers and families, the Schmidt wildlife park. Open to visitors since 1968 and still family-owned by the Scheidtweiler family, the 36-hectare park is home to native wild animals, tame domestic and farm animals, and a naturally preserved flora.
The park is ideal for a relaxing day in nature, where you can get up close to animals such as deer, wild boar, foxes and many other species. A special highlight at Wildpark Schmidt are the feeding sessions, where visitors can learn more about the animals and see them up close, as well as the flight shows of birds of prey on the flight meadow, which take place in summer. The wildlife park places a great deal of importance on species-appropriate husbandry and nature conservation, which makes it an educational experience for young and old alike.
The adventure playground and play barn are further highlights for younger visitors. The Wildpark Schmidt team provides its guests with delicious food and drinks in the café and bistro. Wildpark Schmitt is therefore a wonderful place to enjoy nature and learn something about the local animal world at the same time.
