Wildpark Eekholt

If you fancy a trip to the countryside, then Eekholt Wildlife Park is just the ticket! Located between Bad Bramstedt and Bad Segeberg, you will find 67 hectares of pure nature here – with forests, meadows, moors and lots of animal inhabitants. Over 700 animals from around 100 native species live here, including wolves, otters, deer, foxes and impressive birds of prey. The daily feedings and flight demonstrations are particularly exciting – you can get closer to the animals than you could anywhere else.

But the park is not just a place to marvel at, it's also a place to get involved. For families with children, there are adventure stations, project days and guided tours that are really fun and educational at the same time. A particularly great feature is the bird sanctuary, where injured wild animals are cared for and, if possible, released back into the wild.

There are also plenty of opportunities for a relaxing break: playgrounds, petting zoos, barbecue and picnic areas make for a varied visit. And if you get hungry in between, you can stop off at the ‘Kiek-ut-Stuben’. Everything is spacious and largely barrier-free – perfect for family outings.

An added bonus: the wildlife park has been awarded the Schleswig-Holstein Sustainability Prize – so not only is a lot being done for the animals, but also for the climate.
