Waltroper Parkfest

The Waltroper Parkfest is a major annual city festival that transforms Moselbachpark and the surrounding areas in Waltrop into a vibrant festival and celebration zone. The festival has established itself as one of the most important regional events and offers a very varied programme for all age groups.

What makes the Parkfest so special is its successful combination of different event areas that offer something for every visitor:

- Musical highlight: The three main stages are at the heart of the festival. Well-known bands and musicians from the pop, rock and hip-hop genres perform on the open-air stage. For rock music fans, there is the ‘On The Rock’ stage, and those who prefer something a little quieter can enjoy cabaret and comedy on a separate stage.

- Funfair and fair: In addition to the musical programme, a large fair provides entertainment. The funfair extends across the market square, Herne-Bay-Platz and the car park at the town hall. Here you will find classic and modern rides, game booths and lottery stands that provide thrills and fun.

- Family and cultural programme: There is a separate, extensive programme for children and families with hands-on activities and entertainment. In addition, there are stands run by clubs and local organisations providing information about their work. Numerous food and drink stands round off the culinary offerings.

Unlike many city festivals, the Waltroper Parkfest is not free of charge. Visitors can purchase either day tickets or a 3-day festival ticket. However, children under the age of 14 are admitted free of charge. This underlines the festival character of the event.
