Waldbröl - Stadtfest

The Waldbröl Town Festival transforms the entire town centre into a lively fairground and is regarded as the largest fair in the Oberbergischer Kreis district. Over the course of several days, colourful fairground rides, traditional fairground stalls and local culture come together to create an event that attracts visitors from far beyond the town’s borders. The atmosphere is characterised by a colourful bustle between the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars, whilst the scent of roasted almonds and savoury specialities wafts through the streets.

A special feature of this festival is the close link between modern entertainment and time-honoured tradition. Whilst the evenings are often dominated by a lively atmosphere and music in the various food and drink areas, Sunday, with its specialist shops open, offers the chance for a leisurely family stroll. An integral part of social life is also the ceremonial tapping of the keg at the start, as well as the ecumenical service, which is often held in unusual locations amidst the hustle and bustle of the fair. The festival traditionally ends with a convivial morning pint, where locals and visitors meet in a relaxed setting to bring the shared experience to a close.
