Vogelburg Weilrod

In Weilrod-Hasselbach in the Hochtaunus district of Hesse, around eleven kilometres from Bad Camberg and around thirty-three kilometres from Limburg an der Lahn, you will find Vogelburg Weilrod, which opened in 1981. The privately run Vogelburg Weilrod is home to around 700 different birds in its 37 houses and accessible free-flight enclosures. Here you will find parrots such as macaws, blue-fronted amazons, grey parrots, red-masked and brown-eared parakeets, cockatoos and beos. The animals can be fed and sometimes even touched with the food available for purchase at Vogelburg Weilrod. Selected birds are also presented several times a day as part of a parrot show in a cinema-like room and you can learn about these animals. A café in the Vogelburg also invites you to linger over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. The Vogelburg Weilrod is usually open seasonally from March to October and offers a worthwhile day trip destination in the Taunus.
