Tierpark Krüzen

Krüzen Zoo is located in Krüzen in the Duchy of Lauenburg district, about five kilometres northeast of Lauenburg/Elbe on the B209 in Schleswig-Holstein. The private zoo covers around six hectares and is home to around 600 animals from around 70 species, including exotic animals such as camels, zebras, llamas, rheas and monkeys, as well as rare domestic breeds such as woolly pigs, rabbits and coloured mice. The animal park was founded in 1992 by the Zeyn-Drewke family; it has been certified as a zoo in accordance with EU guidelines since 2007 and also participates in species conservation programmes, for example for the Przewalski's horse and the kulan.

The animal park attaches great importance to direct contact: feeding and petting are possible in many areas, for example with goats, ponies, donkeys and rabbits. Parents and children appreciate the short distances and the manageable size of the park, which is particularly practical for small family outings. A special highlight is the free park railway, which runs every quarter of an hour at a speed of about 10 km/h across the grounds – popular with young and old alike. For children, there is a spacious playground with a bouncy castle, diggers, a go-kart track, carousels, climbing nets and slides.

A visit to Krüzen Animal Park is particularly attractive for families with small children or anyone looking for a nature-oriented, focused animal encounter away from large zoos. The compact grounds with petting enclosures, exciting animal species, playground and train ride offer a manageable, down-to-earth day trip – with charm, lots of direct contact with animals and low admission costs. Simple, practical and child-friendly – this is the Krüzen Animal Park at its best.
