About the Park
Cottbus Zoo, which was opened in 1954 and is maintained by the city of Cottbus, is located in Cottbus, Brandenburg. Around 1,200 animals of 170 species live here on 25 hectares. From A for Abgott's snake to E for elephant, M for Malayan duck, S for saddle stork, W for bison and Z for pygmy goat or zebra, these and many other animals can be discovered here. Cottbus Zoo pays particular attention to the breeding of waterfowl, with Chilean flamingos being bred for the first time in 1977 and crowned cranes in 1979. It is therefore not surprising that the zoo keeps around 70 species of waterfowl. Of course, Cottbus Zoo also offers its visitors a variety of catering options and there is a playground for the little ones to enjoy.
