About the Park
In addition to the Berlin Zoo, the is the second point of contact for animal visits in Berlin. Opened in 1955, the zoo covers a huge area of 160 hectares, making it the largest zoo in Europe. The size of the animals presented is correspondingly enormous: Well over 600 species can be found here, with the zoo in areas such as the Goodfellow Rainforest House presenting tree kangaroos, Varis in the Variwald or African secretaries.
