Thüringer Zoopark Erfurt

Erfurt Zoo is one of Germany's largest zoological gardens and is idyllically situated on the Roter Berg hill in the north of Thuringia's capital. Covering an area of around 63 hectares, the zoo offers a natural home to more than 1,000 animals of over 130 species. Visitors can embark on a fascinating journey around the world through different habitats – from the African savannah to the wildlife of Australia.

The extensive African panorama, where giraffes, zebras, ostriches and antelopes live together in a large landscape enclosure, is particularly popular.
