About the Park
The TerraZoo Rheinberg has existed since 2001 and is home to around 100 animal species. Five years earlier, a preliminary version was opened in Moers, but then had to move due to construction. With its 20-kilometre distance to Duisburg, Rheinberg is located on the western edge of the Ruhr region. As a reptile house, the TerraZoo is dedicated to animals such as Nile crocodiles, tortoises and especially pangolins. The animal population is supplemented by amphibians and invertebrates such as tarantulas. A Mississippi alligator is a sensation, because she is an albino!
