The Straubing Christmas Market takes place in the Lower Bavarian ducal town of Straubing on the picturesque town squares (Ludwigsplatz & Theresienplatz). This market is characterised by its traditional and family-friendly atmosphere, which is deeply rooted in Bavarian culture and cosiness.

The centrepiece of the Christmas market is the festively decorated, tall Christmas tree, which illuminates the entire square with thousands of lights. Surrounding it are numerous wooden stalls decorated for Christmas, offering a wide range of traditional handicrafts and regional products. Visitors can discover hand-carved nativity figures, Christmas decorations, ceramics and other lovely gift ideas.

The Straubing Christmas market treats its visitors to typical Bavarian and Christmas specialities. In addition to classic mulled wine and punch, these include regional delicacies such as grilled sausages, Knackersemmeln (a type of bread roll), Dampfnudeln (a type of dumpling) with vanilla sauce, and sweet treats such as roasted almonds and gingerbread. Special attention is paid to the programme for families and children. There is often a children's carousel and a fairy tale forest, which delights the youngest visitors.
