About the Park
SEA LIFE Berlin, originally opened as AquaDom & SEA LIFE Berlin, is one of several aquariums operated by the Merlin Group, which also owns the Legoland, and parks. Each of the aquariums is designed as a tour and shows animals in a classic environment. For example, rays are kept in a large shallow tank, while a large ring several meters in diameter filled with water is available for schooling fish. In addition, each SEA LIFE has a focus and shows special features of the animal world in changing exhibitions. For example, the focus is on turtles or jellyfish.
On 16.12.2022, the huge, 16-metre-high AquaDom, via which SEA LIFE can be reached by elevator, collapsed for unknown reasons. The majority of the approximately 1,500 animals in the AquaDom died. As a result, SEA LIFE had to be temporarily closed. SEA LIFE will reopen its doors on 15.5.2023, the AquaDom will not be rebuilt.
