Saalfeld - Volksfest

Flickering lights, the scent of candy floss and whirling rides

Showmen from all over Thuringia and Germany come to the Saalfeld fairground on the Weidig every year in July.

You can take a spin on the bumper cars and other attractive rides.

You can try out your marksmanship at various shooting and throwing games. You can try your luck at various lottery, throwing and vending machines.

For the little ones, there is a children's carousel, fairytale railway, fun duck fishing, children's eight-loop and Disney baby flying carousel.

And you can satisfy your hunger and thirst at the many food stalls, whether savoury or sweet, hot or cold, liquid or solid.

The fair is organised by the Thuringian Showmen's Association based in Arnstadt and the Association of Travelling Showmen of Thuringia, with the support of the town of Saalfeld, the Saalfelder Festring e.V., the Schützenverein Beulwitz 1991 e.V., the Saalfeld Mitte fire brigade and the Bürgerliches Brauhaus Saalfeld.

The Saalfeld folk festival is complemented by a varied programme in the afternoon and evening hours.
