About the Park
The Reutlingen Christmas Market is an atmospheric and traditional event in the heart of the historic city, whose backdrop is dominated by the imposing Gothic St. Mary's Church. The festively illuminated church forms the central anchor point for the numerous wooden huts that stretch through the surrounding alleys of the old town and up to Albtorplatz. The market combines a contemplative atmosphere with lively hustle and bustle, attracting visitors with a mixture of regional and traditional offerings. The culinary offerings are dominated by Swabian specialities such as Dünnele, Rote Wurst and handmade cookies, accompanied by classic mulled wine, which is often served at a large, central mulled wine pyramid. For families, the separate Nikolausdorf (St. Nicholas Village) on Albtorplatz offers its own child-friendly area with carousels and attractions suitable for children. In addition, the so-called Christmas Park, often located near the town hall, extends the winter experience beyond the old town and offers opportunities for ice skating or curling on an ice rink, allowing the market to spread its winter magic beyond the holidays.
