During Advent, Potsdam's Christmas Magic transforms the historic city centre of Brandenburg's capital into a vast, festive sea of lights and a shopping experience. The market extends from Luisenplatz across the entire length of Brandenburger Straße to Bassinplatz, with each location having its own unique character.

Luisenplatz often marks the beginning of the magic, where a white pagoda village welcomes visitors with arts and crafts and delicacies, and a stage with jazz and swing music invites them to linger. The central axis, Brandenburger Straße, serves as a festively illuminated promenade, lined with numerous sales and food stands that invite visitors to stroll and sample the wares.
