About the Park

Germany – Family fun in the Palatinate

Germany is located in Haßloch in the Palatinate, around 32 kilometres from Mannheim and approximately 45 kilometres from Heidelberg. The amusement park is easily accessible via the A65 and A61 motorways and by public transport. The park belongs to the Belgian Plopsa Group, a subsidiary of the media company Studio 100, which is known for popular children's characters such as Maya the Bee, Vicky the Viking, Heidi and Tabaluga.

Germany, formerly , delights visitors of all ages with over 40 rides and attractions. In addition to numerous children's carousels and family-friendly rides, spectacular thrill rides also await you. The most famous attraction is probably the ‘Expedition GeForce’ roller coaster, which opened in 2001 and has been regularly ranked among the best steel roller coasters in the world since 2002.

Other highlights include:

the ‘Sky Scream’ launch coaster

the 80-metre-high ‘Lighthouse Tower’ (Starflyer)

the whitewater ride ‘Dino Splash’ (Rapid River Ride)

the 70-metre-high free-fall tower by Intamin

Thanks to its central location, Deutschland is particularly well suited for day trips – from the Rhine-Main area, Karlsruhe or Mannheim, among other places.

With the planned expansion to include a themed hotel and the ‘’ water park on the site of the former Haßloch bathing park, which is scheduled to open in 2027, Plopsa is continuing to invest in the location and consistently expanding its offering.

A look back at history

The amusement park was originally opened as ‘Märchenpark Haßloch’ and taken over by the Schneider family in 1970. It opened under their management in 1971 and was renamed ‘’ two years later.

The park made a name for itself with special attractions, among other things:

The now defunct ‘Lilliputian village’ (until 1996), where people of short stature lived in walk-in, house-shaped caravans

A water ski show unique in Europe

A dolphinarium

Many exciting shows

‘Kino Monumental’, Europe's first 180-degree cinema

In 1979, Germany's first looping roller coaster, the ‘Superwirbel’, opened.

This was followed by milestones such as:

‘Donnerfluss’ (1984) – Europe's first rafting ride

‘Teufelsfässer’ (1992) – Europe's first whitewater ride with a backward shot

The Free-Fall Tower (1997) – at the time the highest of its kind in Europe

With ‘Expedition GeForce’ (2001), the park gained another internationally renowned attraction.

In 2010, the Plopsa Group finally took over . Since then, the park has been extensively modernised and expanded to include a 5,000 m² indoor hall. As part of a new master plan, the focus is now increasingly on the brand worlds of Studio 100.

A significant milestone was the renaming to ‘ Deutschland’, which was officially celebrated on 28 June 2025.

Chronicle: New Additions, Renovations, Closures

Halloween Fright Nights

In 2023 it will be scary again in the Holiday Park. Every Saturday in October and of course on Halloween itself (October 31st), scary horror attractions await you such as the additional horror houses, the scare zones, the spectacular fireworks, the big Halloween parade and the grandiose Halloween party with DJs. You can also use the Holiday Park's attractions until late at night.

The recommended minimum age for the additional horror attractions is 16 years! The scare zones are open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. During the Halloween Fright Nights, the Holiday Indoor & Majaland remain monster-free.

Tip! Enjoy our Halloween food specials, such as the Scary Swirly soft ice cream, a delicious pumpkin soup or the Spicy Currywurst. Dunkin' has delicious Halloween specials in October! Enjoy a Pumpkin Spiced Latte (iced or hot) and a matching Pumpkin Spiced Donut.

So viele Fright Nights Nächte wie noch nie, so viele Live Darsteller wie noch nie und so viele Horror Attraktionen wie noch nie.
