About the Park
The first fair in Pforzheim after the Second World War took place in 1947. The fair was first established at the "old Messplatz" on the eastern side of the city and from 1953 to 1959 in the Stadtgarten, and since 1960 the "Pforzemer Mess" has been set up on the Messplatz along Habermehlstraße, which was newly built according to the latest standards at the time.
The Pforzheim fair, which is connected to a grocer's market, has enjoyed great popularity since then and attracts visitors from near and far.
The "Pforzemer Mess" is a favourite with showmen and market traders. This is evidenced by the constantly rising number of applicants, which need not hide behind those of the major fairground events. Newcomers from the fairground sector can also be engaged to ensure that the fair always has a new "face". The funfair season is also jokingly referred to as the 5th season and the funfair as the "meeting place of the year".
The "Mess" begins on the 2nd Friday in June (exception: 2006 and 2007 on the 3rd Friday in June) and lasts 10 days.
