The Offenbach Christmas market, which stretches across Aliceplatz and Stadthof, is known for its festive atmosphere and long opening hours, which traditionally last until just before the turn of the year. The market is characterised by thousands of LED lights and a tall, brightly lit mulled wine pyramid, which serves as a central meeting point visible from afar. In contrast to markets with a strong focus on arts and crafts, Offenbach places particular emphasis on hospitality and community. A special feature of the Offenbach market is the daily presentation of local clubs, organisations and initiatives in a specially designated club hut, giving numerous groups the opportunity to introduce themselves. A varied stage programme provides entertainment, including daily performances of pop, choir and gospel singing, as well as theatre and fairy tale performances, complemented by live music on the weekends. The youngest visitors are also catered for: there are carousels, and St. Nicholas visits the market accompanied by his angels to delight the children. The culinary offerings are rich and typical of the Christmas season, with mulled wine, chestnuts, tarte flambée, grilled sausages and sweet treats such as roasted almonds and Baumstriezel; groups also have the option of renting covered huts with warm seating.
