About the Park
The Nuremberg Winter Village with its Ferris wheel has established itself as a popular and atmospheric addition to the famous Christkindlesmarkt, inviting visitors to enjoy the magic of winter far away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. The village is idyllically located on Jakobsplatz between the historic churches of St. Jakob and St. Elisabeth, and its cosy atmosphere makes it an ideal meeting place during the cold season.
The undisputed highlight and eye-catcher of the area is the imposing Ferris wheel, which is around 38 metres high. Its enclosed panoramic gondolas take visitors on an unforgettable journey of discovery above the rooftops of Nuremberg and offer a unique view of the medieval city, which shines brightly in the winter lights. In the evening hours, the Ferris wheel itself becomes a spectacle thanks to a unique, atmospheric LED light show.
Surrounding the Ferris wheel is the winter village, consisting of heated huts and stalls that invite visitors to linger and relax. The culinary offerings are diverse, ranging from classic winter drinks such as mulled wine and eggnog to Franconian specialities such as bratwurst and international delicacies such as flambéed salmon, pasta from a Parmesan wheel and a wealth of sweet treats, including Baumstriezel and Nuremberg gingerbread. For younger guests, there are attractions such as a winter maze and a children's carousel, making the winter village a perfect destination for the whole family, friends or romantic dates.
