The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt is one of the most famous Christmas markets in the world. Hundreds of red and white stalls – the “city of wood and cloth” – shine brightly against the historic backdrop of the main market square. The scent of freshly baked Nuremberg gingerbread, mulled wine, and grilled sausages wafts through the narrow streets. The Nuremberg Christ Child watches over everything, traditionally opening the market with its festive prologue. Visitors discover artistic handicrafts, nostalgic Christmas decoration classics such as tinsel angels and Zwetschgenmännla, as well as regional specialties. Especially in the evening, the warm lights, the surrounding Gothic facades, and the hustle and bustle create a unique, almost fairytale-like atmosphere.
