Mönchengladbach - Rheydter Spätkirmes

The Rheydter Spätkirmes is a traditional and nationally renowned folk festival that takes place in the Rheydt district of Mönchengladbach. The festival grounds extend across the central market square and the adjacent streets, transforming the city centre into a large festival area.

The fair is characterised by its numerous attractions for all age groups. Adrenaline junkies will find a wide selection of large rides, while families and children can enjoy a variety of carousels, walk-through rides and game booths. The culinary offerings are typical for a funfair and range from hearty classics such as bratwurst and chips to sweet treats such as roasted almonds, candyfloss and crêpes. The fairground is complemented by a market where traders offer various goods for sale. Another traditional feature is a large opening fireworks display that lights up the sky above Rheydt.
