Mannheim - Weihnachtsmarkt am Wasserturm

The Mannheim Christmas Market is one of the largest and oldest traditional Christmas markets in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and is a central event in the run-up to Christmas. It takes place in a unique setting, namely around the imposing water tower on Friedrichsplatz – one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau ensembles in Europe.

This magnificent location gives the market a particularly festive and elegant atmosphere. Over a hundred festively decorated wooden huts line the area and offer a wide range of traditional handicrafts, including wooden toys, handmade ceramics, jewellery and decorative Christmas items.

The Mannheim Christmas market offers a wide variety of culinary delights: from regional specialities such as Palatinate bratwurst and Maultaschen to international treats, there is something for every taste. The scent of mulled wine, roasted almonds and freshly baked waffles wafts through the alleys and contributes significantly to the cosy atmosphere. The large Christmas pyramid and illuminated carousels are often a special attraction, making the market an appealing destination for the whole family.
