Lüneburg - Bayrisches Oktoberfest

The festival takes place on the Sülzwiesen in Lüneburg, transforming the area into a large festival site. It attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year, who celebrate in Bavarian traditional dress.

- Festival tent: The centre of the festival is the large Bavarian tent. Here, a traditional Bavarian atmosphere is created with live music, brass bands, DJs, beer and traditional Bavarian delicacies such as pretzels and white sausage. Admission to the festival tent is free on all days.

- Amusement park: The festival grounds are also a large fairground with numerous rides. These include classics such as bumper cars, the Musik-Express and other attractions.

Special highlights:

- Happy Hour: On Friday afternoon (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), there is traditionally a ‘Happy Hour’ during which tokens for the rides can be purchased at half price.

- Fireworks: On Friday evening (around 9:45 p.m.), a large fireworks display lights up the sky above the Sülzwiesen.

The Lüneburg is known for its successful blend of tradition, conviviality and party atmosphere, bringing the Bavarian way of life to the north.
