Ludwigshafen - Weihnachtsmarkt

The Ludwigshafen Christmas market is held every year on the central Berliner Platz and is considered one of the earliest and most important Christmas markets in Rhineland-Palatinate, attracting visitors from far beyond the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. The entire event area is transformed into a festive space by the extensive TWL light display, which creates a magical atmosphere with hundreds of thousands of lights, sparkling gates and an impressive, spanning ceiling of lights.

The ambience is defined by around sixty atmospherically decorated wooden huts offering a mix of arts and crafts, gift ideas and a variety of culinary delights. The visual focal points of the market are the festively illuminated Ferris wheel, which offers unique views of the city's sea of lights, and an imposing, often redesigned Christmas pyramid, which serves as a popular meeting place and often provides sheltered indoor areas for visitors. In addition to traditional mulled wine and roasted almonds, a range of hearty dishes and specialities from regional suppliers are on offer.

A varied programme on the festival stage and special activities for children, complemented by elaborate light installations such as light walls and illuminated picture frames for selfies, make the Ludwigshafen Christmas market a convivial and modern meeting place in the run-up to Christmas. Another special highlight is the regular fireworks displays, which illuminate the market impressively in the evening.
