Lampertheim - Spargelfest

For around 80 years, the Lampertheim Asparagus Festival has been celebrated on the 2nd weekend in June as the crowning finale of the asparagus season. The traditional three-day event is a multifaceted and vibrant city centre festival for all generations. It has developed into a highly frequented crowd-puller not only for Lampertheim residents themselves, but also for many visitors from the region. It offers a wide variety of cultural events, culinary offerings and a traditional fair.

The festival weekend opens with the enthronement of the Asparagus Queen and the obligatory tapping of the keg beer. Other popular events include the ‘Colourful Afternoon’ for senior citizens with a varied programme from local clubs, the asparagus peeling competition, the jazz morning pint with the LA Reed Big Band and an ecumenical church service in the town park. Of course, there will also be plenty of live music on a total of three stages. On Asparagus Festival Sunday, the shops in the town centre will be open from 13:00 to 18:00.
