Isny - Kinderfest

The Isny children's and local history festival has a long history dating back to 1620. It is reported that around 100 boys marched around the town with ‘hiltzin Helleparten, item Bixen, brennenden Lunten, Trummen und Pfeiffen’ and finally marched onto the Rain.

The tradition of the children's festival drummers has been preserved to this day. The wake-up call at 5 a.m. on Children's Festival Sunday still drives the town's inhabitants out of their beds.

It is a festival organised by Isny residents for Isny residents, which also attracts former residents from all over the world back to their old home for a few days. The fairground at the Rain - incidentally still the same as it was almost 400 years ago, with a large marquee - offers an entertaining and cosy meeting place for young and old alike with its musical entertainment, fairground rides and varied programme.
