Hoyerswerda - Stadtfest

The Hoyerswerda Town Festival transforms Lausitzer Platz and the area around the Lausitzhalle into a lively festival precinct and is regarded as the region’s cultural highlight. On the central main stage, visitors can look forward to a varied programme of culture and music, ranging from well-known live bands and up-and-coming regional artists to rousing dance shows and traditional Sorbian folklore. Admission to all stage areas is free throughout the festival.

A particular attraction for young and old alike is the large funfair that stretches along the festival promenade. Here, classic and modern fairground rides, bumper cars, nostalgic carousels and adrenaline-fuelled thrills at dizzying heights create a genuine fairground atmosphere. Numerous fairground stalls also offer typical fair classics such as roasted almonds, candyfloss, lángos and hearty barbecue specialities. Prize stalls, tin can toss and games of skill round off the colourful fairground atmosphere.

In addition to the fairground, the festival offers a wide-ranging programme of events for the whole family. The little interactive town of HoykiWojki delights younger visitors with creative play and craft areas, whilst the interactive promenade along Bonhoeffer-Straße invites you to stroll, haggle and explore. Sporting highlights such as the traditional HOYWOJ CityLAUF attract numerous runners and supporters. The festival culminates in a spectacular fireworks display that bathes the sky above Hoyerswerda in a colourful sea of light.
