During Advent and Christmas, Heide Winter World transforms the historic market square in Heide in Dithmarschen (Schleswig-Holstein), known as the largest undeveloped market square in Germany, into an atmospheric winter event.

At the heart of Heide Winter World is the large ice rink, which is perfect for ice skating and curling. This central attraction, which is often covered to ensure fun whatever the weather, forms the sporting and social heart of the event and attracts families, schools and companies for celebrations. The Christmas market's festively decorated wooden huts are grouped around the ice rink. These offer classic North German and winter delicacies such as punch, mulled wine, sweet treats and hearty dishes. The range of handicrafts and gift items on offer is regionally influenced.

Winter World features a large stage and a varied supporting programme. This includes live music, performances by local artists and special events for children, such as puppet theatre or visits from Father Christmas.
