About the Park
For five days, from Friday to Tuesday, Esens is always characterised by the Schützenfest on the second weekend in July. The "fifth season" begins. Shooting festival fans traditionally get in the mood on Friday at the square concert followed by a torchlight procession on the market square and in the town centre. The new young marksmen's king is announced on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening, several music bands provide entertainment in the festival tents. Sunday is marked by a large parade through the town centre to the festival site from 14:00. On Monday, the main day of the festival, one question takes centre stage: who will succeed the reigning king? On Tuesday, the children will get their money's worth. On Children's Day, sweets and ride chips for the merry-go-rounds in the main festival tent are handed out. The big fireworks display takes place in the evening.
