About the Park
St John's Festival - the festival of joy
Once a year - usually on the first weekend in July - Eschwege is "in a state of emergency" at the St John's Festival. For five days, all life in the town is centred on this traditional festival, and the preparations in the schools and clubs take weeks.
Hardly anyone from Eschwege leaves the town during these days, hardly any former Eschwege residents do not return to their home town during these days. But not only the people of Eschwege themselves, but also friends from the twin towns, from the sponsor ships and many enthusiasts from all over Germany use the festive days to reunite with the people in and around Eschwege.
