Erlebnispark Affenwald Straußberg

In the north of Thuringia, in the district of Kyffhäuserkreis in the southern Harz Mountains, about 70 km east of Göttingen in Lower Saxony, you will find the adventure park Affenwald Straußberg in the district of Straußberg in Sondershausen since 1994. About 80 lemurs and Barbary macaques as well as a Bennett's kangaroo live in the 4-hectare nature reserve. Petting and feeding the monkeys is permitted here in the Straußberg Monkey Forest Adventure Park with special food and at selected times. To quench your thirst for knowledge, there are display boards in the park where you can learn more about the animals and their habitats. The 760-metre-long summer toboggan run Speedride, which has been in operation since 1993 and features five steep curves, also provides action. The combination of summer toboggan run and animal park makes the Straußberg Monkey Forest Adventure Park an ideal destination for a day out for the whole family.
