Engelskirchen-Ründeroth - Maikirmes

The fair has existed for more than 420 years. It was held for the first time in 1589, making it one of the oldest events in the Oberberg district.

The Ründerother Maikirmes traditionally takes place on the 1st weekend in May. It is an integral part of the springtime activities in the Oberberg district. The fair opens its doors on Friday and Saturday from 2 pm, and on Sunday and Monday from 11 am (after the church service).

Whether young or old, everyone gets their money's worth here, because in addition to the obligatory food stalls, stalls with sweets or, for example, the lottery stalls, there are also children's carousels and attractive rides around the Protestant church, on the ‘Alter Markt’ and along Kamperstraße.

What makes the funfair so special are the local clubs and residents, who make the funfair so cosy and familiar by serving their own drinks - some have been doing so for over 40 years.
