Detmold Andreas Fair - over 400 years of funfair tradition

Once again this year, the motto is: "Get in, ride along and be there". The entire city centre is turned upside down and transforms into a fairground with an area of around 18,000 square metres from

Wednesday after the Day of Prayer and Repentance up to and including Sunday, 1st Advent, into a single theme park for the whole family.

On Kronenplatz, a bit of stomach strength is once again required: rides such as the music express, breakdance, bumper cars, etc. provide thrills.

The city centre and Rosental are a little more sedate, but no less beautiful. The Twister and the nostalgic horse carousel are also suitable for younger guests. In addition, there are many different stalls for the big and small appetite - the physical well-being is definitely taken care of.

A total of around 160 showmen and women gather in Detmold, including many rides for young and old - sometimes providing thrills at lofty heights, but always ensuring fun and good humour!

Andreasmesse Detmold - this traditional event is cult and an absolute must, and not just for funfair fans in the region. The special attraction is the contrast between the medieval backdrop and imposing monuments as well as the colourful and cheerful hustle and bustle of traders. The historic townscape is an indispensable part of the funfair and ultimately creates the unmistakable pre-Christmas atmosphere that tens of thousands of visitors cannot escape every year.
