About the Park
The Franconian Folk Festival in Crailsheim is one of the highlights of the year in the town of Crailsheim and is also the largest folk and local festival in the Hohenlohe-Franconia region.
The origins of the festival date back to 1840, when the "patriotic double festival" was organised throughout Württemberg to celebrate the 60th birthday and 25th anniversary of King Wilhelm's accession to the throne. In the following years, this festival developed into the Agricultural District Festival, which was organised by the Agricultural District Association in the first decades and has been held as the Franconian Folk Festival by Crailsheim town council since 1901.
The colourful parade is organised annually by the agricultural sector, trade & commerce and schools and is accompanied by various bands.
The Franconian Folk Festival is still a traditional and well-attended festival today. The parade with the cycle race is also a major annual highlight.
