Bernkastel-Kues blüht auf! - Frühlingsfest

The Bernkastel-Kues Spring Festival is blossoming! It is a festive symbiosis of a traditional fair, a regional gourmet market and floral splendour right on the picturesque banks of the Moselle. The festival grounds stretch along the promenade in the Kues district and make use of the extensive areas along the river to create an inviting event mile. With a capacity for around 30 to 40 exhibitors, including showmen, winegrowers and artisans, the event offers a charming setting that underlines the unique character of this wine town. Every year, the festival weekend attracts between 15,000 and 25,000 visitors who want to celebrate the awakening of nature in this special river landscape.

The atmosphere is characterised by an elegant yet cheerful mood. Elaborate floral decorations and colourful spring arrangements set accents against the backdrop of the vineyards. A spacious amusement park creates the typical fairground atmosphere, while a Sunday shopping day involves the entire town in the festivities. The festival serves as a lively meeting place that brings together the local community with guests from across the region.

In terms of cuisine, the event is all about the Moselle region. At numerous stands, guests can taste the first wines of the new vintage directly from the winemaker, complemented by a wide range of hearty regional specialities and the classic sweet treats of a folk festival. The combination of the scent of spring blossoms, the aroma of the wines and the musical accompaniment creates an incomparable feel-good atmosphere. In the evening hours, when the sea of lights from the festival grounds is reflected on the surface of the Moselle, Bernkastel-Kues shows itself from its most radiant side.
