About the Park

The Laurentius Fair is the largest folk festival in Bergisch Gladbach and one of the most important events in the city's annual calendar. It traditionally takes place around the feast day of St. Lawrence (10 August).

The fair transforms the centre of Bergisch Gladbach into a colourful and lively festival site:

Locations: The main areas of the fair are Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, the Hauptstraße pedestrian zone and Laurentius-Kirchplatz. The rides are mainly located on Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, while Hauptstraße is lined with food stalls, game stands and smaller attractions.

Rides: There is a wide selection of rides for all age groups. These include classic carousels and bumper cars, as well as more fast-paced attractions such as the ‘Break Dance’ and similar large rides. There are special children's carousels for the youngest visitors.

Games and food stalls: Numerous stalls invite you to play games (e.g. duck fishing, tin can throwing, shooting galleries) and offer typical fairground treats such as potato pancakes, chips, bratwurst, roasted almonds, candyfloss and ice cream.

Historical market at Laurentius Church Square: A special highlight is the traditional market around St. Laurentius Church. Here, arts and crafts, regional products and a cosy atmosphere are often offered, complementing the modern fairground hustle and bustle.

Opening and family day: The fair traditionally starts on Friday afternoon. Tuesday, the last day of the fair, is usually family day with reduced prices at all rides and stalls, making it particularly attractive for families.

Sunday shopping: The Laurentius Fair is often accompanied by Sunday shopping, when the shops in the city centre are open and invite visitors to stroll around.

The Laurentius Fair in Bergisch Gladbach is an integral part of the city's culture and attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year who appreciate the mixture of thrills, enjoyment and conviviality.
