Bensheim - Bergsträßer Winzerfest

In Bensheim on the Bergstrasse in southern Hesse, the Bergstrasse Wine Festival takes place every year in September and lasts nine days. It traditionally starts on the Saturday before the 1st Sunday in September with the coronation of the Bergstrasse regional wine queen and attracts around 100,000 visitors a year to one of the largest wine festivals in Germany in Bensheim. In the approximately 3,000 square metre winegrowers' village, which has traditionally been set up on the market square since 1929 and is the heart of the festival, the Bergstrasse winegrowers offer their award-winning wines. On Beauner Platz and the adjoining Promenadenstraße is the festival site with a wide variety of rides for young and old.

Saturday:

6:30 p.m. Opening of the Bergstrasse Wine Festival with the coronation of the Bergstrasse

area wine queen with the participation of the historical vigilante group and Biedermeier group of the local history association "Oald Bensem".

Sunday:

14:00 traditional wine festival procession through the city centre.

Parade route: Carl-Orff-Strasse - Darmstädter Strasse - Rodensteinstrasse - Promenadenstrasse - Bahnhofstrasse - Neckarstrasse - Rodensteinstrasse

Day of the people of Bensheim and their guests, taking down of the flags and closing of the Winegrowers' Festival at 10:00 p.m.
