Bamberg - Weihnachtsmarkt

During Advent, Maximiliansplatz in Bamberg is transformed into a festive Christmas market – surrounded by historic old town houses, the pedestrian zone glows with lights. Wooden stalls invite visitors to browse through all kinds of Christmas goods: toys, glass baubles, handmade decorations, arts and crafts, and regional delicacies. The tempting aroma of mulled wine, roasted almonds, gingerbread, and Franconian bratwurst fills the air. A special highlight is a large traditional nativity scene in half-timbered style, depicting various scenes from the Christmas story. A ten-meter-high Christmas pyramid adds to the nostalgic flair. The market is free to visit and offers a warm, festive atmosphere in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Bamberg.
