Bad Ems - Bartholomäusmarkt

The Bartholomäusmarkt in Bad Ems is one of the oldest and largest folk festivals in the region and has a long tradition dating back to 1379.

The festival is a mixture of a large funfair, folk festival and entertainment programme that lasts several days and is aimed at a wide audience. Admission to all events is traditionally free. The festivities take place throughout the entire town of Bad Ems, with the funfair and the large ‘gastronomic village’ being the main attractions.

Programme highlights:

- Music and party: During the festival, there is a varied musical programme on stage. This includes live bands, rock and pop music, oldies and a big Schlager party with well-known artists on Saturday.

- Fireworks: On Saturday evening, there is a large fireworks display, which is set off from the Lahn and lights up the night sky above the town.

- Crown meeting: A special highlight on Sunday is the large crown meeting in the Kaiserbad, where numerous queens and representatives from different regions come together to promote their home regions.

- Morning pint: In the mornings, especially on Sunday and Monday, morning pints in the Gastrodorf invite you to socialise.

The fair and the Gastrodorf make the Bartholomäusmarkt a lively meeting place that combines entertainment, community and local traditions.
